"The reason we chose you as our celebrant was because we knew you would capture our personalities and allow us to input as much as we wanted to our ceremony. Thank you for making our day so perfect!"

Growing up, I was always someone who enjoyed writing stories and meeting people, but like many teenagers I didn't really have any idea what I wanted to do. So having done a degree in Jazz and Musical Theatre (told you I have a degree in Jazz hands!) I fell into a job working for the NHS in administration.
From the age of 15 I had helped my mum cater for weddings and in more recent years had been one of her chief sales women for her award winning cake company whilst still working my way up in administration, but something was always missing. I was working as a high level PA (well I was based on the top floor) when the revelation came.
After seeing a celebrant at work it was like a light bulb went on in my head. Meeting people, writing their stories and sharing them, helping them through the most important occasions in their life, what more could anyone ask for!
I did my Level 3 Funeral Celebrancy (NOCN) in July 2017 and my Level 3 Naming and Couples Celebrancy (NOCN) In October 2017 and launched Unique To You Celebrancy in November.
Since then I have grown, continually learning and growing and now I am lucky enough to be helping people create the ceremonies to mark the most important days of their life, from birth, to death.
I start from a blank page with every ceremony I write and use words spoken by the people I am working with to craft and create something that will stay with them for years to come. Every ceremony is written with love, care and where appropriate humour and laughs.
I have completed the LGBT+ Awareness Training provided by Warwickshire Pride and am proud to call myself an ally. I am also a certified Grief Recovery Specialist, and have completed Child Bereavement UK training. Added to all this I run Coffin Club Derby and am affiliated with Coffin Club UK. I am a member of the Good Funeral Guild and support the Natural Death Centre
I am located in Derbyshire, however also have a base in Lincolnshire. I cover Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire, but I'm always happy to pack the sunscreen and travel further afield.
In my spare time I can be found 'prancing around on stage' with Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company and QUADS, and pretending I'm Nigella Lawson, much to the delight of my friends. I have a very spoilt cat, who is my greatest critic and he listens to all my ceremonies for me. I also have an incredibly supportive partner, who drives me round and acts as an unofficial roadie and the person who tries to keep my shoe addiction in check.
If you have any questions, about any of my services please do not hesitate to get in touch.

"Well what can I say! I would of been lost without this fantastic woman! Leni you made a very special day even better. Your service was beautiful, and you couldn’t of been more helpful to make the day extra special if you’d of tried.
Thank you so much for all you have done and would recommend you to anyone" - Reece and Lucy - Don't Tell The Bride
